Update; At a Special Meeting of Kildare Newbridge Municipal District the Elected Members adopted the Kildare Town Local Area Plan 2023 - 2029.

The Kildare Town Local Area Plan 2023 - 2029 becomes effective from 6th December 2023 and can be viewed on our website here  

 

Update; The Chief Executives Report on Submissions Received to the Proposed Material Alterations can be viewed in the Outcomes Section on this page. The Special Meeting of Kildare Newbridge Municipal District to consider the Report and make the Kildare Town Local Area Plan 2023 - 2029 will be held on the 26th October 2023. 

Proposed Material Alterations to the 
Draft Kildare Town Local Area Plan 2023 - 2029 

The Proposed Material Alterations to the Draft Kildare Town Local Area Plan (LAP) 2023 - 2029 are now on public display and open for your submissions/observations. In accordance with Section 20(3)(f) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended), it has been determined that a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) is required for some proposed material alterations and an Appropriate Assessment (AA) is not required for the proposed material alterations. 

In this regard, the following documents are published for inspection and public consultation

  • Proposed Material Alterations to the Draft Kildare Town Local Area Plan 2023-2029 and to the Strategic Flood Risk Assessment
  • Addendum to the SEA Environmental Report pursuant to the SEA Directive and Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004-2011 containing an assessment of the Proposed Material Alterations
  • Screening Report for the purposes of Appropriate Assessment (AA) pursuant to the EU Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC) and Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) containing an assessment of the Proposed Material Alterations.

The Proposed Material Alterations and associated SEA and AA documents are on public display and may be inspected from Friday 4th of August to 4pm on Monday 4th September 2023 during normal opening hours at the following locations:

  • Planning Office, Kildare County Council, Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas during opening times of 9.30am–4.00pm, Monday to Friday (closed Bank Holidays).

Make a Submission/Observation
Only submissions or observations made in respect of the proposed material alterations and accompanying documents (including submissions relating to the likely significant effects on the environment of implementing the proposed material alterations) will be taken into consideration at this stage.

Submissions or observations with respect to the Proposed Material Alterations only to the Draft Kildare Town LAP and associated documents, including submissions relating to the likely significant effects on the environment of implementing the proposed material alterations, may be made before 4pm on 4th of September 2023. Submissions or observations should be clearly marked ‘Proposed Material Alterations to the Draft Kildare Town Local Area Plan 2023-2029’ and must be submitted either:

-  On this page at + MAKE A SUBMISSION ,   or 

- By post to: Senior Executive Officer, Planning Department, Kildare County Council, Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co. Kildare.

Please make your submission by one medium only, i.e. online or hard copy.
Any submission or observation should state your name, address and where relevant, the body or organisation represented.   
Submissions made by e-mail to Kildare County Council email addresses or by fax will not be accepted.

All submissions or observations with respect to the Proposed Material Alterations to the Draft Kildare Town Local Area Plan 2023-2029 and associated SEA, AA and SFRA documents will form part of the statutory Chief Executive’s Report to the Elected Members.  Submissions or observations in relation to any other aspects of the draft Local Area Plan cannot be considered at this stage in the process.

 

CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF SUBMISSIONS:  4th September 2023 

Late submissions will not be accepted.
