I would like to object to the County Development Plan. There is currently a housing crisis in Ireland, homeless living on the streets, refugees been housed and a lot of people not able to afford to buy. And now kildare county council think its ok to rule out new builds and make the already bad situation worse!!
Myself and my husband wish to start building on family land this year but are afraid of being refused. We can not afford a new build unless we move counties and this isn't possible with childcare, school and work.
There are currently only a handful of houses for sale in monasterevin within our budget but some are currently all selling for 30/40k over the asking price and its just not feasible for us to buy one.
New builds in Monasterevin are currently at €340,000 and even with help to buy we cant afford to buy one.
My lifelong dream was to always build at my family home, where i grew up and where i can only see my future and one for my kids. I hope this County Development Plan doesnt get approved with the current situation here in Ireland.
