Proposed Development: Development of a Playground and Carpark (Ref P82023.03)
Site Location: at Leixlip Amenity Centre Lands, Station Road, Leixlip, Co Kildare
Pursuant to the requirements of the above, notice is hereby given of a proposal by Kildare County Council for the development of a playground and carpark at Leixlip Amenity Centre Lands, Station Road, Leixlip, Co Kildare.
The site is located to the north of Le Chéile Athletic Club’s all-weather running track.
This playground will replace a small existing playground (540m2) located on the Leixlip Amenities Centre Lands
The new playground (1130m2) will be located to the east of the current playground. Currently, the site proposed for the playground is being rented as a worker carpark for the Intel construction site
The location of the existing playground will be replaced with additional carpark spaces
The existing carpark spaces on the western side of the current playground will be realigned and extended to maximize the available car parking
Plans and particulars of the proposed development, including AA and EIA Screening Reports, will be available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays and Public Holidays from 2nd May 2023 until 30th May 2023, At: Kildare County Council, Level 1, Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co Kildare. W91 X77F.
To facilitate public access, a copy of the plans and particulars will be available for viewing in Leixlip Amenities Centre during normal opening times (Monday to Friday 6:00 AM - 10:00 PM Saturday to Sunday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Public Holidays 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM)
Submissions and observations with respect to the proposed development and dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development would be situated, may be submitted electronically on the Consultation portal as per the link above or in writing to Simon Wallace, Senior Parks Superintendent at Kildare County Council, Level 7, Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co Kildare, W91 X77F before 5.00pm on 14th June 2023. Submissions should be clearly headed “Playground and Car Park at Leixlip Amenity Centre”.
In accordance with the Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC) the proposed scheme has undergone Appropriate Assessment Screening. In accordance with Article 120 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 – 2018 Kildare County Council has concluded from a preliminary examination, that there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment arising from the proposed development and that an Environmental Impact Assessment is not required. Any person may within 4 weeks from the date of this notice apply to An Bord Pleanála for a screening determination as to whether the proposed development would be likely to have significant effects.
