Objection to Gallops Avenue
The Naas Inner Relief Road proposed in the 2017-2022 plan was categorically and democratically rejected by Naas Municipal District Councillors at an NMD meeting on 17th June 2019. Therefore, it, along with any further iterations of the same concept must not be considered.
Part 8 NIRR rejected 6:1 by Councillors in 2019
- 6 of 7 Naas Councillors voted against the Route 2 NIRR in 2019. With massive public support. The renaming of the route does not change the negative impact this road will have on the community.
Failure to listen to Public Consultation Stage
- Public against routes 1&2 in 2018. Submissions made were ignored by KCC Officers who then go on to commission Cliffdon Scannell Emerson to select route 2. This time they need to listen to the public opinion.
Original Route Selection report incorrect weighting on Environmental Summary
- Sunday’s Well Green area and trees gone not taken into account in Environmental report
- Air Noise / Pollution close to residential area. Preferred route was route 6 in route Selection Report on these extremely important items. They cannot be graded at the same level as hydrology and aesthetics but are in the report.
- HGVs starting up and taking off at multiple junctions along the new route will massively increase air pollution in a heavily populated residential zone
TRAFFIC CONGESTION:
- Increase in congestion on Blessington Rd
- Increase in congestion on Ballycane Road
- Increase in congestion at Craddockstown Junction
