Litir Chumhdaigh

I am a resident with a young family living on the proposed route for this road.

It has been repeatedly rejected in huge numbers by the people whom

It will directly affect. It was democratically rejected on numerous occasions yet KCC continuously ignore the views of the people they work for. It is undemocratic to routinely ignore the system put in place to stop these projects. What is the point in public consultation to just ignore it. Renaming the road and tweaking the design is simply insulting the intelligence of the people of Naas.

Objection to Gallops Avenue

Ábhair:

The Naas Inner Relief Road proposed in the 2017-2022 plan was categorically and democratically rejected by Naas Municipal District Councillors at an NMD meeting on 17th June 2019.  Therefore, it, along with any further iterations of the same concept must not be considered.

Part 8 NIRR rejected 6:1 by Councillors in 2019

  • 6 of 7 Naas Councillors voted against the Route 2 NIRR in 2019. With massive public support. The renaming of the route does not change the negative impact this road will have on the community.

Failure to listen to Public Consultation Stage

  • Public against routes 1&2 in 2018. Submissions made were ignored by KCC Officers who then go on to commission Cliffdon Scannell Emerson to select route 2. This time they need to listen to the public opinion.

Original Route Selection report incorrect weighting on Environmental Summary

  • Sunday’s Well Green area and trees gone not taken into account in Environmental report
  • Air Noise / Pollution close to residential area. Preferred route was route 6 in route Selection Report on these extremely important items. They cannot be graded at the same level as hydrology and aesthetics but are in the report.
  • HGVs starting up and taking off at multiple junctions along the new route will massively increase air pollution in a heavily populated residential zone

TRAFFIC CONGESTION:

  • Increase in congestion on Blessington Rd
  • Increase in congestion on Ballycane Road
  • Increase in congestion at Craddockstown Junction
