We object to the proposed Gallops Avenue which is contained in Chapter 5 (Priority Road and Bridge Projects). We do not believe this proposal will address the needs of our county and in particular the needs of our town. The county and Naas town need a proper ring road to be developed - one that will take traffic away from the town centre and the estates which will be adversely affected by the proposed Gallops Avenue. Furthermore, in the 2019  elections for the Naas Municipal District, the majority of the councillors elected opposed the proposal and voted against it at a Municipal District meeting - in this they reflected the wishes of the very many who had opposed this road over the years.  Including this road in the Draft Kildare Development Plan goes against the wishes of the people as expressed in 2019 and the wishes of the democratically elected councillors. The proposed Gallops Avenue must be deleted from the County Development Plan.
