5. Sustainable Mobility & Transport

Ábhair:

Here we go again ! Another objection to the same road which gets new names and now a new Commitee to see reason why an inner relief road aka the Gallops Avenue which is being run through three housing estates , behind another and putting another housing estate outside the town further to allow traffic then to build up through already very busy areas where there are churches , schools shops to meet up with the inner relief road near the Killashee. This needs to be kept outside the town in its entirety and join with the other sections of the road in a coordinated way.

We live at the racecourse where our back garden is very short , 10 feet deep and to suggest an inner relief road AKA the Gallops Avenue or a Boulevard should run along the back of these bungalows is totally unreasonable.

In turn traffic will turn down into an already very narrow Tipper road which is hazardous for pedestrians and cyclists as it is with out additional traffic.

I object to the inclusion of ‘The Gallops Avenue’ in this plan ( Chapter 5 Table 5.4 - Priority Road and Bridge Projects). This road proposal will not address the transport and movement needs of the county and our county deserves better. Furthermore, it does not have the support of the majority of Naas residents as evidenced by the many thousand submissions over the years to the various Local Area Plans, Transport Strategy and such. This road proposal was democratically defeated in 2019 by Naas councillors (6:1 votes) who are on the record in Naas MD Council minutes as stating this road proposal is outdated and not fit for purpose.it is entirely unacceptable to disregard this democratic decision and continue to attempt to include it county development plans, The proposed Gallops Ave road be deleted from the county development plan.

Yours sincerely
