5. Sustainable Mobility & Transport

Ábhair:

I reject any version of a proposed Gallops Avenue,  (Chapter 5 and Table 5.4 - Priority Road and Bridge Projects).

An alternative route from "The Ball" to the east of the racecourse beyond Cradockstown, should be the only route, given that the proposed Naas Inner Relief Road and Gallops Avenue have been rejected by Naas Councillors.

An outer orbital route should be a stated objective of KCC.

As things stand there is congestion on the Blessington Road in both directions.

With the addition of new estates exiting onto the Blessington Road there is already extra traffic since the proposed Gallops Avenue was defeated by Naas Councillors. With the current developments, ongoing traffic will increase exponentially. This will further restrict exiting our estate.

If the proposed "Inner Congestion Road" goes ahead it will have a serious impact on the ecology at the entrance to our estate. Drainage and landscape destruction with removal of trees etc. would have a devastating result.

Kildare Councillors from outside Naas should realise there were good reasons for the rejection of this ridiculous proposal by the Naas Councillors. But KCC management seem to be dogged in sticking to their guns insisting the Gallops Avenue goes ahead.

This management team is not voted into their jobs and don't have to appease voters.

Access and egress from Tesco car park are other causes of congestion on both the Dublin and Blessington Roads.

Main opinion:

Reintroduction of Naas Inner Relief Road under another Name is disgraceful and non democratic.

Main requests:

Scrap this mad idea and construct an outer relief road on the other side of Cradockstown.

Main reasons:

Logical reasons as above
