Objection for Rural housing proposals
My husband and I have been applying for planning on a site we own in Clane since 2019. My parents home is directly opposite our site. We have now received 3 refusals despite complying with the Local Need requirement and a Grant for planning permission issuing for a neighbouring site for a one off house with a business.
There is a housing shortage in clane with prices rising significantly and demand exceeding supply.
The new development plan will further prevent local people who grew up in rural communities from living in these areas. The rising housing prices and lack of properties for sale are making it impossible for young people to live where they have grown up. We have kept horses for recreational purposes for the past 20 years and without the option of developing our site will be unable to continue to do so.
