Proposed Development at Allenwood Community Playground - Part 8 2020.03

Overview

The Parks Department of Kildare County Council propose the installation of Allenwood community playground, meeting point, kickabout area/multi use games area (MUGA), mini BMX track, outdoor exercise equipment, paths incorporating walking loop and associated landscaping on land owned by ACDAL and adjacent Allenwood Scout’s Den and Men’s shed and beside Bright Sparks Childcare Centre, Station Road, Allenwood, Co. Kildare.

Why are we consulting?

We are seeking planning permission for the construction of the proposed playground and associated items.  This is achieved through the Part 8 consultation process.

We want to hear from as many people as possible.  Anyone can submit their support and comments for free. Maybe you live or work in the area, maybe you play football matches in the local club, maybe you are a child, a teenager, a teacher, a local employer, advocate or other with a connection to the area.  Make your support and opinion count by undertaking a submission.

We need to know:

  • Do you support this proposal?
  • Any comments you would like to add, for example, why you do or do not support the proposed project.

Information on the proposal is available in the documents on the right hand side of your screen or at the bottom if using a mobile device.

What Happens Next?

At the end of the consultation process, a report is compiled. The report includes the positive and negative support, reactions and opinions expressed and how items raised could be remedied.  As with all planning permissions the Planning Department recommend approval (with or without conditions) or rejection.   The Councillors of the Municipal District formally accept or reject the proposal.  If the proposal is accepted planning permission has been given.  All planning stages will be completed by 13th March 2021.

Should planning permission be granted the Parks Department will tender for the design and installation of the playground.  The playground will be scheduled for installation as soon as possible thereafter.  As resources become available the remaining elements can be developed.
