Litir Chumhdaigh
To whom it may concern,
I am a long term resident of Ardclough, which is currently classified as a Rural Settlement.
I welcome any well thought out developments in the area which promote quality of life for existing residing individuals and families in the immediate area. Any additional lands becoming available through any re-zoning should be sensitive to local needs. Local people have been refused planning permissions on technical grounds in recent years, and, in the interests of fairness, any serviced sites being made available through rezoning lands should be sensitive to these technical refusals and to these individuals' needs.
In addition to the above important point, I draw the Councils specific attention to the flood drainage from Boston Hill down and under the canal through unsuitable, antiquated and over capacity culvert systems. Any (currently agricultural) lands on the opposite side of the GAA Club (L2008) (North West of Henry Bridge) should include for sufficient normal drainage and flood drainage should any rezoning be considered.
Given the increased traffic expected with The Greenway, careful consideration and long term planning should apply to any future traffic volumes. The bridge at Henry Bridge is a lovely historic feature and this should be protected. Its currently at the centre of regular road traffic accidents and peak time traffic jams, as its a one-way bridge. It is also unsuitable for any HGV traffic.
I would also respectfully submit to the council planners that any rezoning should include for the removal of the unsightly Electricity Pylons locally and burial of same.
Yours Sincerely,
