I am a resident Straffan.
The Boreen Road begins within the village boundary and there is a short path up to the first bend at the graveyard and the path then ceases. There are many residential properties up this road which have no safe access to the village or to any other transport options or local amenities/services.
As an immediate fix the school bus route should be amended to include this road.
An interim solution is that the previous walkway between the Grove Road and the New Road should be re-instated so people can safely walk and cycle to the bus stop and school, the Catholic church, GAA pitch etc
And a long term measure would be to put in a footpath the whole way on the Boreen road. There is ample width for the most part and the markings on the road have all but disappeared and need to be upgraded.
