Litir Chumhdaigh
My name is Owen and I've lived in a rural area just outside of Naas all my life it seems to be getting harder and harder for me and other everywhere to gain planning permission on land that has been in their family for 100s or years. The net is getting tighter and tighter for people like myself who grew up in the country and would love nothing more than for my children to have the same wonderful environment as I did to grew up in.
There does seem to be a general adversity by County Councils to one off rural development but people from rural area who simply do not want to live in a town and have a site on family land available to them to build a family home should be encouraged to take this route. There is already enough pressure on the housing system to provide houses for people and I think it should be made easier for these people to provide a house for themselves rather than have to depend on a local development and just so they can be close to the rest of their families who already live in the area where they grew up. I do wish to apply and hopefully gain planning permission soon and hope these guidelines won't have made it beyond my reach.
Don't make it harder for rural people to live rurally
I wish to be able to live in the country side with my family.
