I would like to make this submission for my client Mr. Edmond Fardy to the Monasterevin Masterplan.

This submission is being made to coincide and compliment Planning Reg Ref 19/194 Granted for Distillery & Visitor Centre, currently under construction immediately across the road to the East.

It will also compliment Planning Reg Ref 17/81 Granted for The Barrow Navigation (Grand Canal-Barrow Line) commencing in Lowtown, (Robertstown) via Rathangan, Monasterevin & Athy to Jerusalem, Co. Kildare currently under construction with the Grand Canal also immediately across the road to the East.

It is proposed for 1.561 acres or 0.632 hectares to be zoned either “A” Town Centre, “L” Leisure & Amenity or “T” General Development. These possible zoning options are suggested as Edmond would like the option to facilitate a Hostel or similar accommodation. This accommodation will serve to compliment the Distillery, Visitor Centre & The Barrow Navigation providing a rest bite to the foreseeable increased tourism, individuals & families visiting Ballykelly.

Edmond would also like to set up a bicycle rental business to again compliment further The Barrow Navigation as provide a much needed facility for the new tourism created along the Grand Canal immediately adjacent to his property.
