As a resident along the L1015 confey road i strongly oppose the proposed upgrading of this road.
The L1015 as it stands is heavily congested at peak times. And minor accidents anywhere in leixlip or Lucan cause long tailbacks at the cope bridge junction.
The upgrading of this raod will only cause further congestion due to planned new housing developments and its proposed connection to the Ongar area. The L1015 feeds traffic directly into the bottleneck that is Leixlip Village .This upgrade is not going increase Leixlip Village's ability to deal with increased traffic. Therefore the only logical outcome is increased traffic problems on the L1015.
Furthermore there are a number of pinch points between houses, dangerous bends , inclines and a bridge along this route. What is to happen to these houses? How is the widening of the road to be accommodated? Surely the residents of the road should be provided with this information.. Clearly the construction of a new straight unobstructed road through farmland would be more cost effective and time effective solution.
It is also my opinion that no new houses should be built before the proper infrastructure is in place.
