The Part 8 for Proposed Public Realm Improvement Works to Market Square, Kildare Town (P82023-08) was on public display from 9.00 am – 5.00 pm Monday to Friday for a period of 6 weeks from 17th January 2024 to 29th February 2024 inclusive.

The submissions have been evaluated and a report was compiled by the Chief Executive for the Kildare-Newbridge MD Elected Members of Kildare County Council.
Outcomes
The above Part 8 was approved by the members of the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District, at their meeting on 15 May 2024.
The Local Authority will carry out the proposed development subject to the following modifications:
Amendment 1.
That the proposed closure of East Link Road on Market Square is removed from plan.
Amendment 2.
That the removal of further car parking spaces on Dublin Road be eliminated from plan and that the disabled bay be located in proximity to bank on Dublin rd.
