Sarsfields GAA Club was founded in 1897. Inclusivity is a core policy of the Club. All members of the community are welcome to participate, regardless of ability.
Thus, all activity tends to be both family and community centred. Children join the Club at four or five years of age, Special needs children are accommodated at all ages. To ensure enjoyable and meaningful participation for everyone, teams are entered into competitions of various competency levels. The Club Health group conduct information meetings and talks on mental and physical health. A HSE primary care dietitian is currently attending on Saturday mornings. Sarsfields is registered with Additionally, the Health Project Team delivered Operation Transformation in January 2022. All such activities are open to the local community. We are one of the busiest GAA clubs in Kildare, hosting training and matches for currently 78 teams across football, ladies’ football, hurling and camogie. The Dermot Earley Academy for children attract up to 500 children and their parents on Friday evenings (Hurling/Camogie) and Saturday mornings for Girls and boys’ football.
