There is increasing rubbish been discarded close to the river areas. There is no places for the public to discard items they have finished with. Items found in these areas are often plastics which end up polluting the river and endangering wildlife.
It is obvious to suggest that people should keep their rubbish of items they buy in the town until they get home or find an appropriate place to discard items. However when viewing the river banks on any given day, it is evidenced that there are many different items, along with dog foul in bags, been thrown away.
While focusing on parks and open spaces, we should also plan to protect the biodiversity of the river bank from plastics and general rubbish.
