In the last few years Catherines Park has been developed into a fantastic amenity for people from Leixlip and Lucan and surrounding areas. It has been great to walk around a park, enjoy watching the sport and training taking place, enjoy seeing and listening to the birds etc. Having lived in Leixlip for over 40 years we have somewhere that we can walk to and enjoy. There was nothing like this available when our children were growing up. Now that I am approaching retirement age I have been looking forward to being able to walk there more regularly. I enjoy seeing families out with their children, grandchildren dogs etc. People like to walk, run, cycle, use the exercise equipment which is what we are encouraged to do for our health and wellbeing.
I feel that the proposed road will ruin this environment. Apart from it being an eyesore pollution will be increased massively. We already have Intel in the local area which results in extensive traffic along the roads we do not need further pollution in the area. Please have some thought for our health and wellbeing especially the young children who benefit from this amenity.
Funds should be spent on public transport and encouraging its use rather than creating new roads encouraging people to drive.
