I fully support the submissions of Sallins GAA and Sallins Celtic FC. These pitches are required to sustain the growth and development of our growing community and the demand for their services. As a parent I understand the importance of positive mental health of our children and ourselves as parents. In particular after a lengthy period of Covid restrictions we are aware of the positive impact of sporting activities for mental heath along with socialising and team building while making friends also. As a parent I realise the benefits of access to fully equipped and suitable playing fields/astro pithces for both GAA and Soccer and would urge for the council to priortise these requirements when designing the community lands. As Irish and Culture officer of Sallins Gaa I am also aware of the interest in our communtiy to have a cultural centre where classes can be established to promote the learning and speaking of our language. I also support that the cultural centre may be used by other clubs within the area for cultural activiites such as Irish dancing classes and music classes also. Our local dance teacher [Redacted, Personal Information] has no venue for her classes at the moment and is depending on the good of Sallins Scouts to provide her with access to their hall.
Please put the needs of our children before other groups as they have suffered enough during Covid and we are yet to understand and realise the negative impact that Covid has has on them.
