I wish to express my full support for the proposed Heritage Trail at Old Kilcullen, Kilcullen, Co. Kildare. As someone who was raised in Old Kilcullen, with my family having lived in the area for generations, I have a deep personal connection to this special place. Now, my grandchildren are also being raised here, continuing our family’s long association with the area.
My home faces the area known as The Commons, and I am delighted to see that it is included in the plans for landscaping and wildlife support. These improvements will not only enhance the natural beauty of the area but also help preserve its biodiversity for future generations.
I am also very pleased to hear of the proposed development along the Hacklow Road for a cycleway and walkway. This will provide a wonderful opportunity for people to enjoy the countryside safely, promoting health, recreation, and appreciation of our local environment.
Old Kilcullen is rich in both history and natural beauty. The creation of this Heritage Trail will allow us to share our local heritage and the long history of County Kildare with visitors and future generations alike.
We sincerely hope the project goes ahead and is developed fully.
