In accordance with the provisions of Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994,
Kildare County Council hereby gives notice of its intention of:
W6 Orbital Route Bus Stop Locations, Straffan Road, Maynooth & Maynooth Community College (Moyglare Hall Estate), Maynooth.
As part of the NTA’s BusConnects programme a new orbital bus route is scheduled to commence in Q2 of 2023.
Orbital Routes
These routes provide connections between suburbs and town centres, without having to travel into the City Centre. They also provide connections to rail, Luas and other bus routes. Enhanced orbital routes will provide major network connectivity benefits for customers and support the introduction of associated spine services.
Stop Locations.
As part of the new W6 orbital route connecting Tallaght to Maynooth via Celbridge of the BusConnects Network Redesign project, 2 new bus stops are proposed within Maynooth as follows.
One new bus stop is proposed on the Straffan Road, and one new bus stop is proposed beside Maynooth Community College (Moyglare Hall Estate). Please see maps identifying bus stop locations.
Drawings showing the proposed works may be inspected, by appointment only, during normal opening hours from Tuesday 28th March 2023 to Thursday 27th April 2023 at the following locations:
Kildare County Council, Roads, Transportation and Public Safety Department, Level 4, Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co. Kildare, W91 X77F
and will also be available to view on Kildare County Council’s website
