Kildare County Council proposes to replace its existing Litter Management Plan.
A new draft plan has been prepared for the prevention and control of litter in the county area setting out appropriate objectives and targets for the three year period 2025-2027.
Why We Are Consulting
The Litter Pollution Act, 1997 requires all local authorities to take practicable measures for the prevention of the creation of litter in its functional area. Local authorities have a responsibility for the collection and disposal of litter, promotion of awareness of the polluting effects of litter and encouraging participation by persons in preventing and overcoming the effects of litter.
What Happens Next
The draft plan is available to view on the Council website, on the Consult online portal and at the following libraries: Athy, Celbridge, Kildare, Leixlip, Maynooth, Naas and Newbridge Libraries.
You can make a submission via our consultation portal Consult.
The consultation will run from 9 am on the 28th of May to the 9th of July at 5 pm.
Submissions made should include the full name of the person/ organisation making the submission. Any submission received outside of the public consultation period will not be considered by the Council.
