Kildare County Council are delighted to announce that we have been awarded funding from the National Transport Authority (NTA) to deliver & install cycle parking to schools & clubs throughout the county. This will allow us to support an increasing number of schools and clubs who are promoting active travel among their members. The aim of the project is to reduce vehicular journeys and to increase cycling as a form of sustainable transport while also promoting health and wellbeing.

If you would like your school or club to avail of this new cycle parking initiative and have cycle parking stands supplied and installed on the premises, complete the online application form at https://kildarecoco.ie/AllServices/Roads/RoadSafetyCyclingandSustainableTransport/Cycling/ to register your interest.

Secure cycle parking is a key concern for cyclists. Kildare County Council will provide and install cycle stands at the school or club premises of successful applicants. The requirements of each premises will be assessed, and Kildare County Council will advise on the options available and arrange for delivery and installation of the cycle parking stands to your school/club.

Once the stands are delivered on-site, they become the responsibility of the school/club.

To express an interest to obtain these cycle stands, complete the online application form enclosed and email to activetravel@kildarecoco.ie. Please note the period of receipt application is open until the closing date on July 15th, 2022 @ 4pm.
