Privacy Notice: Kildare County Council is seeking the information below from you to process your application for the Commercial Incentive Grant Scheme 2024.  The lawful basis for processing this information is Section 66(3) of the Local Government Act 2001

Any personal information you provide will be used only for the purposes of submitting and processing your application.  Details contained in this application may be shared with other Departments within Kildare County Council to verify eligibility.  It may be necessary to share a high level description of the names and numbers of businesses applying and the amounts awarded to the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage for reporting purposes.  Kildare County Council undertakes to retain the personal data you supply for no longer than the duration of the Commercial Incentive Grant Scheme plus a further 5 years.

Evidence of ownership of premises (e.g. Land Registry Certificate/Auctioneers letter) or copy of lease is required.
Any lease on the premises must be for minimum period of 12 months. Actual occupation of less than 1 year will not qualify for the scheme.
The property must have been previously occupied and vacant for a minimum of 24 months at date of occupation or 5 years in the case of new or never occupied properties.
• The grant is applicable where there is a net increase in occupation in the County, i.e new businesses or those expanding into a new location • Relocation from one property to another does not qualify in full. Where there is a relocation, only the differential increase in Rates will be eligible for the grant • Where an existing property is extended into an eligible vacant unit, the grant will apply to the additional area occupied only

De Minimis

De Minimis Aid is small amounts of State Aid given to an enterprise which cannot exceed €200,000 over a rolling three year period to any company irrespective of size or location.  De Minimis Aid can come from any State body, agency or department.  

De Minimis Aid can be in the form of grant or equity. If a Company/Group has received any De Minimis Aid from any State Agency or department including:

  • Enterprise Ireland
  • Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs)
  • An Bord Bia
  • EPA
  • Leader
  • Local Area Partnership
  • SBCI
  • other sources of State Agency/department funding

then this must also be taken into account when calculating the De Minimis Limit.
