      Kildare County Council, gives notice in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994 that it intends to close the following road during the weekends of Saturday 03 May 2025 to Sunday 04 May 2025 and Saturday 10 May 2025 to Sunday 11 May 2025  inclusive, to facilitate road works as part of the Royal Canal Greenway (Maynooth to Confey) scheme.

Alternative Route:

Traffic from the R148 (travelling towards Pike Bridge)

Should continue travelling along the R148 towards Leixlip until the R148/R449 junction. At the R148/R449 junction, turn right onto the R449 dual carriageway and continue travelling until the roundabout. Take the second exit at the roundabout and continue on the R449 dual carriageway until the roundabout (M4 interchange at Junction 6). At the M4 interchange take the third exit (signposted R449 Celbridge). Continue on the R449 until the roundabout and take the second exit (signposted R405 Maynooth). Continue along the R405 and follow the signs for Maynooth.

Should continue travelling along the R405 road towards Celbridge until the roundabout. At the roundabout take the first exit (signposted R449 Leixlip). Continue on the R449 until the roundabout (M4 interchange at Junction 6). At the M4 interchange take the second exit (signposted R449 Leixlip). Continue on the R449 dual carriageway until the roundabout and take the second exit (signposted R449 Leixlip). Continue on the R449 dual carriageway until the R148/R449 junction, turn left onto the R148 (in the direction of Maynooth).

 

 

Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Síochána. Emergency access and restricted local access will be maintained.
