PROPOSED TRAFFIC CALMING MEASURES

SECTION 38 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC ACT 1994

 

 

In accordance with the provisions of Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994, Kildare County Council hereby gives notice of its intention of: 

Kilcullen Road R448 Proposed Cycle & Pedestrian Improvements, from Ballymore Road/Kilcullen Road Junction to Fairgreen Street/Newbridge Road Junction (Murtagh's Corner) comprising of:

  • Installation of protected segregated cycle tracks on both sides of the carriageway from Ballymore Road/Kilcullen Road Junction to Fairgreen Street/Newbridge Road Junction (Murtagh’s Corner).
     
  • Installation of a continuously raised footpath and cycle track across Corban’s Lane and St. Michael’s Terrace for additional safety to vulnerable road users.
     
  • Removal of nine (9) on street parking spaces to accommodate protected segregated cycle and pedestrian infrastructure from Ballymore Road/Kilcullen Road Junction to Fairgreen Street/Newbridge Road Junction (Murtagh’s Corner).
     
  • Installation of a raised junction table and pedestrian crossing point at Kilcullen Road/Corban’s Lane junction.   
     
    Drawings showing the proposed works will be available for inspection at the following locations  from Tuesday 19th October 2021 to Friday, 19th  November, 2021:
