A draft Biodiversity Action Plan has been produced by the local authority with the support of the Biodiversity Working Group of the Kildare Heritage Forum. The draft Plan presents Kildare County Council’s ambition and commitment to the protection, conservation, restoration and celebration of nature in the county over the next six years.
We want to hear your views on the draft Kildare Biodiversity Action Plan 2026-2031.

The Draft Plan can be viewed in the materials section on this page and is accompanied by the following:
Key Dates Consultation Period: Thursday 30th October – Monday 1st December 2025
Public Consultation Events: Wednesday 12th November
Come along to meet the Kildare County Council Biodiversity Officer and discuss the Draft Kildare Biodiversity Action Plan in person at:
10:00 – 13:00 at Maynooth Library, Main Street, Maynooth.
14:00 – 17:00 at Kildare Library, Claregate Street, Kildare.
Closing Date for Submissions: 4.00pm, Monday 1st December 2025
