The Confey Road Residents Association do not accept Kildare County Councils proposed upgrade of the L1015 to facilitate the Confey Masterplan.

There are a number of pinch points along the route where some of the residents homes are very close to the road. The existing country road cannot cope with the current volume of traffic and there are regular tailbacks and congestion.  The proposal to further widen the road will not work or will not be accepted by us.

We are due to suffer one years road opening on our road when Irish Water bring a mains waste pipe down this road, to facilitate the expansion of Maynooth.  KCC gave us no support when we requested a new mains water pipe be installed, when these works are taking place, as the existing pipe is over 70 years old and does not have sufficient pressure to supply all houses.

We recommend a new road be constructed, to take the traffic from Ongar and the new Confey development.  We do not want it dumped in front of our houses.
