M9 Southbound
Exit the M9 southbound at Junction 2 (Kilcullen/Kilmead).
Turn right onto the R448 and travel westbound, then turn left at the next junction towards Castledermot.
Continue southbound on the R448 for approximately 14 km.
Turn right onto the R747 and travel westbound to M9 Junction 3, where the diversion ends.
M9 Northbound
Exit the M9 northbound at Junction 3 (Athy/Baltinglass/Moone).
Travel eastbound on the R747 to its junction with the R448.
Turn left onto the R448 and continue northbound for approximately 14 km.
Turn right at the junction and continue on the R448 to M9 Junction 2, where the diversion ends.
Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Síochána. Emergency access and restricted local access will be maintained.
